Steelfort Sunriver evacuated glass tubes are formed of two tubes, one inside the other, sealed off to form a vacuum, making a very efficient heat trap.

The operation of the circulating pump and the activation of the supplementary heating is controlled by the New Zealand manufactured SolaStat Plus-2 controller.

• This smart controller has been designed to ensure maximum efficiency and water safety for New Zealand climate conditions. 
• Water temperature is monitored at 3 locations to ensure consistent hot water supply
• The frost function indicates the onset of frost and pumps a small amount of water to protect the collector from freezing
• The Biosafe feature ensures safe water conditions are maintained
• If the maximum safe temperature in the hot water storage cylinder is reached the SolaStat controller will prevent the pump from moving anymore water

The water that is heated in the collector is pumped to the hot water storage cylinder by a small German made Wilo Star Z pump.
