Steelfort Engineering Company Limited was founded in 1946 by Frank McOviney Senior; principally to manufacture stainless steel products for the domestic market. The LawnMaster brand was also introduced at this time with a limited selection of reel lawnmowers.
Today, under the direction of John McOviney, the company is focused on quality manufacturing and the distribution of international high performance brands.
The original product mix of Steelfort's own sheetmetal work and the LawnMaster range of lawnmowers remain a stable base for the company's long term future.
The distribution arm of the business has continued to expand by business relationships established with similarly structured manufacturers in America, Britain, Japan and China. With these notable sole New Zealand agencies, Steelfort has reinforced its market position as a supplier of quality high performance products.
